You can reply to an incoming message if the sender has allowed this option. The Reply to Message button is located at the bottom of the message. It is not possible to reply to every message. If it is necessary, you can contact the sender by other means.
You can also start conversations with the authorities that have allowed it.
In the Suomi.fi Web Service’s Messages section, on a mobile device: In Messages select Menu and from the drop-down menu Compose message.
In the Suomi.fi Web Service’s Messages section, on a computer: Select Compose message from the menu on the left.
In the Suomi.fi mobile application: Tap Compose in the menu bar.
From the list, select the organisation you want to send the message to. After selecting the organisation, select the service or matter that your message concerns. If you have chosen to receive messages by paper mail, you will not be able to reply to messages or send new messages. In the Sent items folder, your most recently sent messages will be on the top. You can browse and read the messages you have sent in the same way as received messages.
Not every organisation or service receives contacts through Suomi.fi Messages. Check the organisation’s website for their contact information.
You can also attach file attachments to the message. The allowed file formats for attachments are:
text file (.txt)
MS Word (.doc/.docx)
MS Excel (.xls/.xlsx)
MS Powerpoint (.ppt/.pptx)
Open Document (.odt/.ods)
PDF (.pdf)
JPG or PNG photo file (.jpg/.jpeg/.png).
Before the message is sent, the service verifies that the attachments do not contain any viruses or malware. The maximum size of the attachments is 10 MB in total.
When you send messages via Suomi.fi Messages or reply to a message from an authority, your personal identity code and name are disclosed to the authority in question. You can start using the service without additional identification when the recipient receives confirmation of your identity. The recipient of the message is obligated to safeguard the privacy of your personal data.
