How to save a message

  • Open the message you want to save.
  • Open the Actions menu at the top of the message. The menu is marked with three dots arranged vertically.
  • Select Save text or Save text and attachments.

Save text

This option saves the message text to your own device. Any attachments are not saved. The message text is saved as a PDF file.

Save text and attachments

Select this option if you want to save the message text and its attachments together. This option is available in the Actions menu only if the message has one or more attachments.

  • The message text is saved as a PDF file.
  • The attachments are saved in the format in which the sender sent them.
  • The message and its attachments are saved together in a ZIP file.

If you want to save only an attachment, open the attachment file. Save the file to your device if it is not saved automatically. If you have problems opening the attachment, see the instructions on the Reading messages page.

Where can I find the saved files?

Start by looking in the downloads folder on your device. The folder name may vary. For example, it may be called Downloads. If you chose a different folder as the save location, look for the file there.

If you saved the message text and attachments as a ZIP file, note that a ZIP file is a compressed folder. You may need to extract the ZIP file on your device before you can open the files inside it.

Keep your files secure: If you use a shared computer or another device that other people use, delete the files you saved when you have finished.
