Increasingly, letters from the authorities are no longer brought to our doorstep but arrive in Suomi.fi Messages instead. It's your electronic mailbox for official mail.
Suomi.fi also helps Sámi speakers find public services available in their language.
The number of Suomi.fi Messages users has increased by more than 800 000 users in two weeks. At the moment, 3.5 million people already use Suomi.fi Messages.
In some messages received in Suomi.fi Messages, an additional notice was displayed the following notice “NOTE! External sender. Do not open links or attachments unless you recognize the sender.”
At the moment, not all users are able to act on behalf of a company in the Suomi.fi mobile app. Received messages can be read via the Suomi.fi Web Service .
As of 14 April 2026, when you identify yourself in an authority’s e-service, you will be directed to activate Suomi.fi Messages.
The Personal Data page of the Suomi.fi web service will be down from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. The downtime only applies to reporting personal data to the Population Information System.
