How to activate Suomi.fi Messages during identification:
When you use strong identification in an authority’s online service, Suomi.fi Messages will be activated for you automatically.
Press “Get started” to activate Suomi.fi Messages. - Under the button "Get started" you can find more instructions and answers to frequently asked questions.
Enter your email address. You will receive a verification code to the address you provided. - You can also start using the service without an email address. In that case, you need to check the service regularly yourself, as we cannot notify you when new messages arrive. You will find the option to start using the service without an email address below the “Continue” button.
Enter the verification code that you received in your email.
Done! From now on all your official mail will be sent by default to Suomi.fi Messages. Remember to check your new digital mailbox regularly.
If you have already activated Suomi.fi Messages earlier, this change does not affect you. You will continue to receive official mail in Suomi.fi Messages as before.
You start the activation of Suomi.fi Messages by identifying with your online banking codes or mobile ID. Find the Identification button on the front page of Suomi.fi Messages.
Once you are identified and have landed on the Messages page, click on ‘Activate Suomi.fi Messages’.
You will be asked for consent to use Suomi.fi Messages. To activate Messages, give your consent.
Enter your email address. The address must not contain the letters å, ä or ö. Use an email address that you read often.
Select the language in which you want to receive email notifications from Suomi.fi Messages.
Find the message from noreply@suomi.fi in your inbox. Copy the 6-digit verification code from the message. Return to page suomi.fi/messagesOpens in a new window. page. Click on ‘Enter verification code’ and enter the code. - The verification code is valid for one hour. If you do not finish the verification process in that time, you must restart the Suomi.fi Messages activation from the beginning. You cannot activate Suomi.fi Messages without verifying your email address. - If you cannot find the verification code, please check the Spam and Trash folders as well.
You will receive another message in your email inbox entitled ‘Welcome to Suomi.fi Messages!’ The message is sent from noreply@suomi.fi. You can now start using Suomi.fi Messages and from now on, you will receive messages in electronic format from those organisations that use the service.
You can activate Suomi.fi Messages without an email address. When you are asked to provide an email address, scroll down the page until you find the option “What if I don't have an email address?”.
Please note: If you choose this option, check Suomi.fi Messages regularly to see whether you have received any new messages.
