Suomi.fi Messages sends received and unread message notifications to your email address. Therefore, it is important that you enter an email address that you read regularly. You can change your email address later in Settings. Changing your email address requires a new verification with a verification code that is sent to your email address. Authorities that send you messages may also choose to send you email reminders of unread messages. The e-mail subject will state that you have an unread message.
Push notifications are sent to your phone. You will receive a push notification for each new message if you are using the Suomi.fi mobile application and you have given it permission to send push notifications. You can change this permission in the Push Notifications section of the application’s settings.
The Suomi.fi application will not send you push notifications if you have blocked them, if you have logged out of the application, or if the identification token in the application has expired. Please remember to open the Suomi.fi application regularly to ensure that the login remains valid.
When you sign in to a public authority’s e-service using Suomi.fi identification, you will see a notification about any messages you have not yet checked.
The notification is shown only if new messages have arrived in your inbox after your most recent visit. Once you have opened the inbox after the message has arrived, the notification will no longer be shown, even if you do not read the message itself.
The reminder is shown only for messages that also trigger an email notification about an unread message.
