How an organisation requests new mandates for transactions from customers to replace mandates that are about to expire

This example describes a situation in which an accounting firm wishes to extend the mandates for transactions received from all customers before the current mandates expire.

When you want to request new mandates for transactions from different customers on the basis of existing mandates, do the following:

  1. Start using the selection basket on Received mandates page.
  2. Apply for mandates that are about to expire on the list by filtering the list based on the period of validity (for example, the end date of the mandate is three months away).
  3. Select the customers whose mandates you want to extend.
  4. First, place the parties (i.e. those from which you are requesting a new mandate for transactions) into the selection basket.
  5. Then place the mandates in the selection basket, i.e. the mandate themes, for which you are requesting a new mandate for transactions. When you make a selection, the selected mandate themes and their specifiers will be placed into the selection basket.
  6. When the selection basket contains parties and mandates, go to request new mandates with this information.
  7. Check your selection. At this point, you may remove customers or mandate themes from the list and choose whether you want to keep the specifiers of the given mandates with them. You can also return to edit the selections already placed in the selection basket.
  8. As you move forward, go to the normal mandate request view, where you will still be able to make changes to the details. Remember to set the start date of the new mandates to the next day and the end date to the new end date agreed upon with the customers. Note that all new mandates have the same period of validity.
  9. Finally, submit the mandate requests.

Please note that the employees' mandates to represent are not automatically extended, but they must also be extended if they end at the same time as the mandates for transactions previously received from the customer. You can extend the mandates to represent at the same time in accordance with the example How an organisation grants the new client's mandates to represent to employees who handle the affairs of the client.
