An electronic mandate for acting on behalf of another party
Suomi.fi e-Authorizations can be used to act on behalf of another person or organisation in services that use Suomi.fi e-Authorizations to check the right to use the services.
As a rule, these services are e-services.
In Suomi.fi e-Authorizations, you can
grant a private individual, company, association or some other organisation a mandate to act on your behalf
accept a mandate that a private individual, company, association or some other organisation has granted to you to act on their behalf
request a mandate from a private individual, company, association or some other organisation to act on their behalf.
A mandate granted in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations is an electronic power of attorney. Its details are entered in the authorisation register. The digital services of different organisations such as Kela or Finnish Customs check from the authorisation register whether the person or the organisation has the right to act on behalf of another party.
A mandate in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations is not always needed for acting on behalf of another party because the services using Suomi.fi e-Authorizations check your rights from basic registers such as the Population Information System and the registers of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office.

The Suomi.fi e-Authorizations works best with the most commonly used browsers and the latest versions of browsers. The service should not be used with the Internet Explorer browser because it is no longer recommended.
The Suomi.fi activity history lists who has used your mandate to act on your behalf and in which service they have used it. The page does not show information about transactions made on behalf of another person before November 2022.
If the mandate has been granted to an organisation, the activity history will list the name of the organisation that acted on your behalf. If you would like more detailed information on the use of a service, please contact the service that was used.
Unfortunately, organisations such as companies, associations and societies cannot yet see in the Suomi.fi activity history if a service has been used their behalf.
