How an organisation grants its employees mandates to take care of a customer's affairs
This example describes a situation in which an accountant is granted a mandate to take care of a customer company’s tax affairs in MyTax.
A customer company grants an accounting firm a mandate for transactions to deal with its tax affairs in the manner described under the example “How does a company grant an accounting firm a mandate to manage the company's tax affairs and to deal with matters related to the Incomes Register?” above.
The accounting firm may also itself request a mandate from a customer company as described on the Making a mandate request as an organisation page.

To make it possible for an accountant to use e-services with a mandate the company has received from its customer, do this:
- Identify yourself into Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
- On the start page, select Company’s mandates as the service role and the company on behalf of which you want to grant the accountant a mandate.
- Select Grant mandates.
- Select mandate to represent as the mandate type.
- Add the accountant's or accountants' details as the assignee or the assignees. You can authorise at one time one or more accountants to deal with the customer company’s tax affairs.
- Select the mandate themes, i.e., the themes the accountant deals with on the customer's behalf. If you want the accountant to deal with all the tax affairs of a customer company, select “Managing of tax affairs”. If you want the accountant to deal with the filing of tax returns only, select “Filing tax returns and other reports”.
- Enable the mandate specifier if you wish to restrict the mandate to apply to a specific customer company only. A “customer ID” specifier is available for the managing of tax affairs. A mandate to represent with no restrictions applying to it entitles the holder to deal with all current and future affairs of customer companies in a selected theme. Use the facility to target a mandate by customer with caution, because using it will increase the number of mandates that have to be administered.
- Define the period of validity of the mandate.
- Check that all the mandate’s details are correct and validate the mandate.
When an accountant has received a mandate to represent, that employee can take care of all tax matters or the tax returns only on the customer's behalf. They log into MyTax using their personal IDs and select the company on behalf of which they want to act. Accountants who have received a customer-specific mandate to represent can only select those customers whose affairs they are entitled to deal with based on a valid mandate to represent.
