Changing your personal identity code

Before changing your personal identity code, change your Suomi.fi Messages settings to paper mail. Save any messages that are important to you, as once your personal identity code has changed, you will no longer be able to use your Suomi.fi Messages mailbox connected to your previous personal identity code.

If your personal identity code has changed before you have changed the delivery method in your settings, ask the advisory service on Suomi.fi services for instructions on how to change the delivery method.

You can reactivate Suomi.fi Messages after your new personal identity code has been updated in the Population Information System. However, in this case, a new electronic mailbox will be created for you without any messages connected to your previous personal identity code.
