How does the network produce content?

The production of Suomi.fi content is based on a content cooperation model, which is a way of producing content based on researched customer insight. The Digital and Population Data Services Agency compiles a content network across organisational boundaries that designs and produces content.

The network collects customer insight, formulates content, communicates and maintains content. The content cooperation model is always applied in the network according to the topic and the network's needs.

1. Definition of the problem

The production of Suomi.fi content begins by determining the customers' needs so that the solutions are not based on assumptions and views, but on researched information.

Defining the customer's problem means that the following will be investigated at the beginning:

  • What do customers really want to know?
  • What do customers think about the issue?
  • What keywords should be used to find information on the topic and how are the topic spoken about it?

2. Acquisition of information and formation of a service path

Members of the network play an important role in gathering customer insight. Each member of the network brings their knowledge of their customers from the perspective of their own organisation. Customer insight is also collected through interviews and each organisation’s customer surveys and feedback.

The target groups for which the guide’s texts are intended is defined on the basis of customer insight. The network also puts together the customer's service path, which forms the basis for the content structure.

3. Content planning and production

Once the target group and service path are known, the content structure is outlined.

The persons on the Suomi.fi editorial team responsible for each topic will write the content, and the members of the network will comment on the content and approve the content.

Content can be tested in customer groups before publication.

4. Publication and communication of content

The network decides on the publication of content and plans how feedback on the content is collected. The network also draws up a communication plan. Each network member organisation communicates on the contents as much as they can.

The network collects feedback on the published content and monitors its use. In this way, the content can still be edited based on information received from customers.

5. Content maintenance

The network agrees on how the content is maintained. The Suomi.fi Web editorial team is responsible for maintaining content, but information is needed from network member organisations to keep the content up to date. The network can decide on annual follow-up meetings or online communication.
