Approving a mandate request as a person

Only an assignor aged over 18 can approve a mandate request. No mandate requests can be made to persons aged under 18, which means that guardians do not need to approve mandate requests.

You can see the notification of the mandate requests waiting for approval in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations once you have identified yourself and selected Personal mandates as your service role. 

You can also view the mandate requests sent to you on the Received requests page. If you use Suomi.fi Messages, you will receive the details of new mandate requests there. 

If you have a large number of mandates, you can:

• search for the mandates granted to a specific person, company or organisation by the name, part of name or identifier of the assignor
• search for mandates requested for certain mandate themes or certain specifier
• limit the list based on the period of validity of the mandates.

Do as follows:

1. Identify yourself in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
2. Select the service role according to whether you want to approve mandate requests sent to you personally or mandate requests sent to a company, association or other organisation that you represent.
3. Go from the notification to approve the mandate requests.
4. You can see all assignees from whom mandate requests have been received.
5. You can select one or more assignees and approve all mandate requests received from them at one time. When you click on the assignee's name, you can select individual mandate requests that you want to approve.
6. Check the details of the mandate(s). 
7. Remove from the list any mandate requests that you do not want to approve.
8. If necessary, edit the period of validity of the mandates that you want to approve.
9. Validate the mandate(s). If you validate a new mandate that overlaps with an existing mandate, the existing overlapping mandate will be invalidated immediately.

Validated mandates will be visible on the Granted mandates page by the assignor and on the Received mandates page by the assignee. 

The rejected mandate requests will be invalidated from Suomi.fi e-Authorizations. The party submitting the mandate request will not receive any notification of the invalidation of the mandate request.
