Changing the role enables you to act on behalf of another person, company or organisation in Suomi.fi.
To select your role in Suomi.fi, do as follows:
Identify yourself in the Suomi.fi Web Service.
Select the desired role and you will receive a list of the people or companies and organisations on whose behalf you have the right to act.
Select the person, company or organisation on whose behalf you wish to act.
Go to the desired service, such as Suomi.fi e-Authorizations or Suomi.fi Messages.
You can act on behalf of another person in the following cases, for example:
You can act in Suomi.fi Messages and e-Authorizations on behalf of your minor dependant.
In certain cases, you can use Suomi.fi Messages, e-Authorizations and Activity history when you act as the legal guardian or attorney of another person.
You have been granted a mandate in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations to act on behalf of another person in Suomi.fi Messages.
Acting on behalf of another person is not possible in Register data. For example, you cannot view the register data of your minor dependant in Suomi.fi.

Acting on behalf of a company or organisation in Suomi.fi is possible in the following cases:
A right to read or manage company’s or organisation’s messages has been granted to you in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
A right to manage the mandates of the company or organisation has been granted to you in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
Based on register data, you have the right to represent a company or an organisation alone, which means that you can manage the mandates of the company or organisation.
To be able to act on behalf of another party in Suomi.fi, you must identify yourself with a Finnish identification token. Acting on behalf of another party in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations is also possible for a foreign national who has identified themselves by using the Finnish Authenticator application.
Selecting the service role applies only to the Suomi.fi Web Service and to Suomi.fi e-Authorizations and Suomi.fi Messages, which are used through it. It does not affect the other web services of public administration, in which users log in using Suomi.fi e-Identification.
