A person, employer or holder or owner of a security inspection site can apply for approval of a security inspector from the police of the area where the security checks will be carried out. Depending on the place of security checks, the application must include training information on the persons proposed for approval and other reports related to the security check tasks. The police department will consider the needs for clarification on a case-by-case basis.

Approval as a security inspector may be withdrawn if the approved person no longer fulfils the conditions for approval in terms of integrity, reliability or suitability for the task. The conditions for approval as a security inspector must be valid at all times.
