Checking the details of a minor child

If you are your child’s guardian, you can use the Personal data page to view

• the name, date of birth and personal identity code of the child as well as the number of guardians
• your rights to make decisions concerning the child that have been separately confirmed.

If you are not your child’s guardian, you can use the Personal data page to view

• the child’s date of birth
• your rights of access to information concerning the child that may have been separately confirmed for you.

If the child is dead, you will also see the child’s date of death. The Population Information System does not contain any data on stillborn children.

Checking the details of a child: A child’s guardian and a parent who has a confirmed right to access information on the child may request the right to check other details of the child. The request must be submitted to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency with the form request – exercise of right to inspection. The request should be submitted as follows:

• Enter the child’s details on the form.
• With your request, submit a free-form message where you provide the same information about yourself that you filled in for the child on the form.
