Personal data in Suomi.fi

The Population Information System is a national register that contains

  • personal data on Finnish citizens and foreign citizens residing permanently or temporarily in Finland
  • information on properties, buildings and apartments.

Personal data is updated in the Finnish Population Information System either by an individual making a notification or based on information received from various authorities.

On the Suomi.fi Personal data page, you can check the information that has been recorded about you. You will have to identify yourself to Suomi.fi with a Finnish identification token. Checking the data of another person (acting on behalf of another party) is not possible, so you cannot check your child’s data, for example.

Note that if you are using a browser translator, the information may appear incorrect. Disable your browser’s translation function when checking your data.
