Activating the hightrust.id mobile application

The Hightrust.id digital wallet, produced by Megical Oy, is a mobile application that serves as an identification token.

You can activate the application if you have a valid identity card issued by the police after 31 August 2021. The application can also be activated with a foreigner’s identity card issued by the Finnish Police.

Using the Hightrust.id application is free of charge. It works with the following operating systems:

• iOS 16.0 or more recent and iPhone 8 or more recent
• Android 7.0 or more recent and devices with NFC reader

To start using the application, first download it to your mobile device:

If you have not activated the citizen certificate on your ID card before, you must activate it first. You can activate the certificate without a card reader while setting up the application.

Once you have activated the certificate on the identity card, you can use the PIN codes on the identity card to add the details of the identity card and the citizen certificate to the application and use it to log in to e-services that use Suomi.fi e-Identification.
