As a witness in a trial

Testifying in court proceedings is a civil duty that you cannot refuse. Witnesses are heard in order to establish the course of events.

As a witness, you must state everything you know about the matter, answer questions and be truthful. If it turns out that you have lied or concealed information, you may be charged with a false statement.
