Handing over/retrieving firearms

The possession of weapons always requires permission. If you have no permit, the permit has expired or the police is considering revoking the permit, you must hand over the firearms to the police. The estate of a deceased person might also have to hand over firearms to the police.

You must always agree in advance with the police department about a handover of firearms to the police or their retrieval. The police department will then give detailed instructions. When using the services, you must always carry a passport or an ID card, and when picking up firearms, you need a permit or decision on the basis of which the police can hand over the firearms.
