Emergency plan for residential property

By the Rescue Act, a rescue plan must be drawn up for residential buildings with at least three residential units.

The objective in drawing up an emergency plan is to

  • identify the risks of the residential property concerned and prepare for them
  • anticipate injuries and accidents effectively
  • ensure that people know how to act correctly in dangerous situations.

In a housing company, the holder of the building is a housing company that is responsible for the decision-making of the building and steers the operation of the building. The housing company is responsible for drawing up and updating the emergency plan and for implementing the measures specified in the plan. An emergency plan may also be drawn up by an external party to the site, but even in this case, the holder of the building is responsible for its contents and appropriateness.

An emergency plan functions appropriately when it is regularly kept up to date and all the residents study it carefully.

The housing company also takes care of

  • remedying safety deficiencies
  • providing guidelines to the users of the building for preventing accidents and instructions for acting in the event of a hazardous situation.
