It is everyone’s responsibility to call for help in case of emergency and ensure the safety of their home and the real properties they own. All adults living in Finland also have a duty to defend their country.
The police maintain public order and safety in public places. Public meetings and demonstrations must be notified to the police.

Call 112 if someone's life, health, property or the environment are in danger. Only end the call, when the operator gives you permission to do so.

Take care of your building’s safety yourself and ask a professional to sweep the fireplaces and flues regularly.
National defence obligation
All Finnish citizens who have turned 18 have a duty to defend their country (to participate in the defence of Finland).
