Voluntary military service for women

Women may apply for voluntary military service in Finland if

• they are Finnish citizens and aged between 18 and 29
• their state of health and other personal characteristics are suitable for military training. 

The content and requirements of service are the same as for men. After service, women are part of the reserve where they have the same obligations as men who have performed the military service.
