Tax number register

The Tax number register is a public and open register for the construction and shipbuilding sectors maintained by the Tax Administration.

Construction and shipbuilding workers are entered in the Tax number register. The individuals working at a construction site or in a shipyard area must have a photo ID card showing the tax number issued by the Finnish Tax Administration.

Do the following

Employee or self-employed individual

  • If you have a Finnish personal identity code, you can enter your tax number in the register in MyTax
  • If you do not have a Finnish personal identity code, visit the tax office in person to get your personal identity code and tax number. You can then request that your tax number be entered in the public Tax number register.

The employer

You can submit a request for registration of a tax number to the Finnish Tax Administration, electronically in the Ilmoitin.fi service.

  • When you request the tax numbers of at least 20 individuals electronically, they are automatically entered in the register.
  • You can also submit a request if you already have the tax numbers, but the employees are not in the Tax number register.

As an employer, you can also enter the employee's tax number in the register, in MyTax.
