Tax credit for domestic costs
- Service
- Nationwide
- Public service
You can receive a tax credit for domestic work that you commission at home, in a leisure home, in your parents' or grandparents' homes. Such work includes cleaning, childcare, house renovation and installation of IT equipment.
Do the following
You can submit the details of the tax credit either in your tax card or your tax return.
If you report the details in your tax card, you will receive the benefit of the tax credit immediately. The data you submit will be transferred to your pre-completed tax return. Check the details when you receive the tax return.
Alternatively, you can report the tax credit to the tax return data when you receive a pre-completed tax return for review. If you only report the data to the tax return, the tax credit is considered in the amount of back tax or tax refund.
The payment year determines the year for which you report the details of the domestic costs tax credit.
To whom and on what terms
When you hire a company to work at your home, the company must be in the Prepayment Register. If the company is not included in the Prepayment Register, you cannot receive a tax credit for its work.
Domestic costs tax credit is only granted for the share of work. You will not receive a domestic cost tax credit for items or travel expenses, for example.
