The Data Exchange Layer provides organisations a standardised way to transfer data between public and private sector organisations’ information systems. The Data Exchange Layer enables organisations to build secure digital services for citizens, businesses and authorities.

The API Catalogue, provided as part of the Data Exchange Layer, is an up-to-date index of APIs within the National Data Exchange Layer. The purpose of the API Catalogue is to help service providers to develop more efficient digital services and support the reuse of data. The API Catalogue contains descriptions of digital services, whose data are accessible to other information systems.

Do the following

You can connect your digital service to the Data Exchange Layer by applying for a access license from the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. You can register for access to the API Catalogue when you begin integrating with the Data Exchange Layer.

To whom and on what terms

In order to use the Data Exchange Layer service, organisations need to integrate with it and accept the terms and conditions.

The organisation must implement the interfaces between its own digital services and the Data Exchange Layer. The organisation’s interfaces may require changes to ensure compatibility. The organisation must have access to a Security Server through which the connection is executed – if necessary, this component may be set up during implementation. The organisation also needs a server certificate from the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

The service is free of charge.
