Registering the protected occupational title of a hospital chemist (trained in Finland)

Hospital chemist is a protected occupational title in Finland. Professions with protected occupational titles may also be practised by those who possess the required training, experience and professional skills and knowledge. Do the following

Fill in and submit the form by post and attach the following to it:

  1. an extract from the Population Information System, or a copy of your passport or ID card
  2. a certificate of completion of specialisation studies issued by a university, or alternatively, a certificate issued by a certification board
  3. a certificate of basic education preceding the degree, such as a BA or MA degree and a possible pre-doctorate PhLic or a PhD degree

Valvira requests that you provide all the documents as officially certified copies in order to speed up the processing of your application. If the attached document is an ordinary photocopy, Valvira is under the obligation to confirm its authenticity by contacting the granting body, which may significantly delay the processing time.

To whom and on what terms

In order to be granted the right, you must be a qualified hospital chemist.

If you do not have a Finnish personal identity code at the time of applying, you must notify Valvira as soon as you receive it.
