Rescue authorities provide guidance and advice in matters related to fire safety, self-directed preparedness and accident prevention.
These include:
- fire inspections
- permit matters
- supervision of fire safety or chimney sweeping
- emergency plans and evacuation safety
- preparedness and emergency plans for disruptions and crises
- safety training.
The fire safety of residential buildings and leisure properties is monitored by means of the resident’s self-evaluation.
The Rescue Department uses various means to increase people’s ability to prevent and respond to accidents and incidents. The objective of public safety communication is to support and guide people in fulfilling their obligations under chapters 2 and 3 of the Rescue Act.
