Podiatry
- Service
- Helsinki
- Public service
In podiatry, we prevent and treat musculoskeletal problems and skin and nail changes in the lower legs. During the first visit, we will assess your treatment needs, select the treatment methods and decide how often you need to visit us.
As a rule, we serve people with diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis who are already experiencing foot problems caused by their disease.
In podiatry, we will also assess whether you will need support insoles or special footwear.
You need a referral from a doctor, personal nurse or diabetes nurse for podiatry. Once you have your referral, you can choose which podiatry unit you would like to visit. Podiatry is free of charge.
To whom and on what terms
Foot therapy requires a referral from a doctor, public health nurse or diabetes nurse.
The service is for only for citizens of Helsinki.
Service vouchers are used in the service.
