Adult oral health care services are intended for residents of the Vantaa and Kerava who are 18 years of age or older.
At the dental examination, the risk of developing oral and dental diseases is assessed for you. The assessment takes into account your general health, level of self-care and dental history. The level of risk affects your treatment plan, preventive treatment and the date of your next examination:
Low risk: a dental examination every 3–5 years and a preventive visit to an oral hygienist every 2 years
Moderate risk: a dental examination every 2–3 years and a preventive visit to an oral hygienist every year, if necessary
High risk: a dental examination every 1–2 years and a preventive visit to an oral hygienist every 6 months – 1 year, if necessary
