The owner and holder of the water and land area has the right to take surface water and groundwater from the area, for the normal use of the property, such as household use and farming. The amount of water used must be reasonable.

Do the following
Prepare a water abstraction notification containing the following information:
- name and contact details of the person responsible for the project;
- location of the project;
- a report on the measures needed to implement the project;
- volume of water to be taken;
- time and duration of project implementation;
- a map showing the location of the project.
Submit the notification at least 30 days before starting the procedure.
Send the notification as an attachment to the general form for ELY Centres. You can also send the notification by e-mail to the registry of the ELY Centre or in paper form to the ELY Centre's office.
Send the notification to the ELY Centre of the area, where the water abstraction takes place.
To whom and on what terms
If the amount of surface water and groundwater abstraction exceeds 100 m3/day, and the abstraction does not require a permit (water permit) pursuant to Chapter 3, section 2 or 3 of the Water Act, notify the ELY Centre of the water abstraction.
Submit the notification at least 30 days before starting the abstraction.
Deadline
Submit the notification at least 30 days before starting the procedure.
Processing time
The ELY Centre will process the notification before the start of operations mentioned in the notification.
