Maintenance of native plants

A maintenance agreement for native plants may be concluded for one or more varieties of indigenous plants for a period of five years.

You can apply for the agreement annually in connection with the application for field subsidies for farmers, using form 214.

To whom and on what terms

The maintenance agreement for native plants is a gene bank measure. You can apply for a maintenance agreement for native plants if the indigenous plant variety you maintain is registered in the National List of Plant Varieties, maintained by the Finnish Food Authority.

The maintenance agreement for native plants may be concluded for the maintenance of grass and fodder plants, cereal crops, beets, seed potatoes, oil and fibre plants, as well as native varieties of vegetables, old commercial varieties and the modified stocks of old commercial varieties.
