You can apply for a licence for a repair shop’s operation that is subject to licence from Traficom using electronic forms. Fill in the form online and send the related documents also in electronic format as an attachment to the application.
The licences and notifications for repair shops that are subject to licence and notification are specific to the place of business.

A licence
The holder of an A licence has the right to install and inspect the tachograph and its connections and to seal it as required by the regulations, as well as perform adjustments, repairs and sealing of the tachograph(s) specified in the licence.
B licence
The holder of the B licence has the powers listed above but not to the repair or adjust the tachograph or seal its case in connection with the repair or adjustment work. The licence applies to all tachographs of the approved model. However, the licence entitles the holder to change the reading on the tachograph to be installed in the vehicle in accordance with the meter manufacturer’s instructions and to seal the case solely in connection with this procedure.
Da permit
The holder of a Da licence has the right to repair the digital and smart tachographs that are mentioned in the licence by their make and model. Irrespective of the make and model of the digital and smart tachograph, the holder of the licence has the right to install, inspect, check and, as required by the regulations, seal the device and copy the data stored in the digital and smart tachograph or to issue a certificate of the impossibility to copy as provided for in Chapter VI of Annex 1 to Council Regulation (EEC) No 3821/85 on recording equipment in road transport.
Db licence
The holder of the Db licence has the right to install, inspect, check and, as required by the regulations, seal the digital and smart tachograph and copy the data stored in the digital and smart tachograph or to issue a certificate of the impossibility to copy as provided for in Chapter VI of Annex 1 to Council Regulation (EEC) No 3821/85 on recording equipment in road transport.

1: Preconditions for obtaining a licence
The applicant is registered in the Business Information System
The applicant has access to appropriate workspaces for installation and repair work
The applicant has adequately skilled personnel for installation and repair work
The applicant has access to the equipment required for carrying out the work
2: Person responsible for installation and repair work
The person responsible for the installation, adjustment and repair work must be mentioned in the application. This person must have training or experience which, on the basis of a report provided by the tachograph’s manufacturer or importer or the educational provider, can be considered sufficient.
3: Tachographs to be installed or repaired
The application for an A licence must indicate which manufacturer’s tachographs the application concerns.
The B licence applies to all tachographs of the approved model.
The application for a Da licence must indicate the brand and model of which digital and smart tachographs the application concerns.
The Db licence applies to all digital and smart tachographs of the approved model.
4: Compulsory application documents
The responsible person’s certificate of a tachograph installation and repair course.
