The shipowner must ensure that a new ship or a ship starting to sail under the Finnish flag undergoes an initial inspection. Order the initial inspection by telephone or e-mail from the Division of Occupational Safety and Health of the Regional State Administrative Agency in whose area the inspection is to be carried out. To whom and on what terms
The initial inspection shall be carried out, if possible, before the ship is taken into service, or no later than six months after the ship is taken into service. The initial inspection shall be carried out again if the ship undergoes substantial alterations.
