Individual and group therapy in mental health and substance abuse services

Individual and group therapy provide support for non-urgent, mild to moderate mental health problems, substance abuse and gambling issues. We start by assessing your situation and by drawing up a plan for the outpatient treatment and rehabilitation together with you. The plan may include individual, pair, family and group meetings. You may also access the service as a relative.

At the beginning of your treatment, your care and service needs are assessed. After the assessment, you may be recommended individual or group therapy in the mental health and substance abuse services or online therapy provided by HUS. You can join the open peer support groups without registration. The service is intended for adults living in the wellbeing services county.

You can contact us by phone at 09 4191 1100, on weekdays at 9.00-13.00. Before contacting the mental health services, please complete the Therapy Navigator symptom checker. The need for treatment is assessed with you on an individual basis.

You can join the open groups without registration. For more information about the groups, please visit our website or call us. Please note that group therapy is only available in Finnish.

You may also be referred to individual and group therapy when you visit a walk-in clinic.
