Compensation can be applied for the following:

advances paid by the traveller
purchased gift cards that can be used to procure travel packages or combined travel services.
the unused portion of an interrupted trip
the cost of the traveller’s return transport, if the trip included transport
accommodation at the destination until the return transport, if the trip included accommodation
