The increase in electronic services brings new challenges in handling everyday personal affairs. There are still almost half a million people in Finland over the age of 65 who do not use information technology. However, many of them are interested in information technology and other technology. Older people should have access to computers and the Internet and the opportunities they bring, as well as guidance in the use of them.

In co-operation with the area's organizations for senior citizens, Soite organizes eSeniorit activities, in which the elderly are guided in the use of smartphones, e-mail, various social media channels and Soite's electronic services. Guidance and instruction is mediated through peer support, and peer mentors in the municipal areas will guide the elderly in facilities specially assigned for this. Guidance can also be obtained from associations that guide older people in online issues or from their local library. And once you’ve learned it, you can guide others yourself!

You can meet eSeniors at libraries and municipal offices, the peer mentors are volunteers from Eläkeliitto's organizations in Central Ostrobothnia. Soite coordinates joint meetings between the mentors and organizes various training events requested by the mentors. In addition, Soite's websites also run non-stop inquiries about the wishes of peer tutors and trainees. You can also find the eSeniors and places for instruction in Soite's area on the website of tVanhustyön keskusliitto (VTKL – The Finnish Association for the Welfare of Older People) on the site www.seniorsurf.fi
