Advice and support in event of dismissal
- Nationwide except the Åland Islands
- Public service
If you are dismissed from work for production or financial reasons, you will receive re-employment support from the TE Office during your notice period.
In the event of dismissal, the TE Office will cooperate with the employer and employee representatives (change security), and organise information sessions on the TE Office's services and registering as a customer. The goal is that you find new employment as quickly as possible.
As a dismissed employee, you will be entitled to paid leave when you draw up an employment plan or participate in labour market training agreed upon in the plan, job-seeking or re-employment training.
You are entitled to an employment plan already during the notice period. Activities and services that best promote your employment will be agreed upon in the employment plan. The employment plan will be drawn up no later than the end of your current employment and reviewed every three months if your unemployment continues.
As a job-seeker, you can receive job offers suitable for you. If you become unemployed, you can apply for unemployment benefit for the period you are unemployed.
Do the following
If you are dismissed from work for production or financial reasons, you can get useful information at the TE-palvelut website or advice via the individual customer telephone service.
If you wish to receive guidance, please register as a job-seeker with the TE Office already during your notice period.
To whom and on what terms
The TE services webpages and TE telephone service for individual customers are available to all.
If you need personal guidance or want to apply for unemployment benefit, you have to register as a job-seeker with the TE Office. Also, some of the TE office’s services are discretionary and require registration as a job-seeker.
The service is free of charge.
