Hemby is a private care service that provides home care for older people and supports people with disabilities and families with children in everyday life. Richard Nordström founded Hemby in 2018 for his own mother: "I built the care service I wished for my own mother: a familiar caregiver who would know her wishes and notice right away if something was wrong."
Services
- Private home care and elderly care: companionship, escorting outside the home, help with errands, housekeeping, help with digital devices, outdoor walks, cooking, dressing, bathing, medication reminders and personal hygiene
- Physiotherapy, foot care and haircuts through a partner
- Cleaning service for seniors: one-off cleaning (e.g. window washing) or regular home cleaning. We can also help with other household tasks when needed.
- Personal assistance in everyday life for people with disabilities
- In-home childcare, paid privately or as an employee benefit
- We are an approved service voucher provider in most wellbeing services counties, for example for informal caregiver respite, personal assistance, home help for families with children and veteran services
Privately purchased services may qualify for the Finnish household tax credit. We can apply for it on your behalf once you give us authorisation.
How the service works
- The same named caregiver or cleaner helps you every time
- You can reach your own named contact person by phone
- Visits last at least 1.5 hours, so there is also time for conversation and companionship
- Family members can see visit updates after each visit in the app
- No commitment required: you can start with a single visit and add more as needed
- We serve you in your native language, around the clock when needed
- Our caregivers are trained in social and health care, and we run a background check on everyone
- We are a service provider registered in the Soteri register, and our liability insurance is with Pohjola Insurance
