When you become unemployed

  1. Register as an unemployed jobseeker with a TE Office at the latest on your first day of lay-off or unemployment. 
  2. Apply for the unemployment benefit from Kela or your unemployment fund once you have been unemployed or laid off for two weeks.

To be eligible for the unemployment benefit

  1. keep your job search valid
  2. look for full-time employment
  3. cooperate with the TE Office or your municipality of residence.
