Request for placement in a training group of the civilian service

The carrying out of a civilian service always starts with a training period in the Civilian Service Centre. You may request a location for the training period you prefer in Omasivari. You can also send a written request for placement in a training group stating when you would like to start to carry out the civilian service if you not are able to log in to Omasivari.

Do the following

Log in to Omasivari and choose a location for the training period. After it has been processed, the Civilian Service Centre will send you an order to report for duty. When you receive a notification from the post office that a delivery has arrived to you from the Civilian Service Centre, you have to fetch it personally from the post office. Only after that your placement in your preferred group will become certain.

You can send a written request for placement in a group to the Civilian Service Centre by e-mail or by mail if you are not able to log in to Omasivari. Provide the following information in your application

  • your name
  • your date of birth
  • your address information
  • requested training date

The processing of the application will take about a week. After it has been processed, the Civilian Service Centre will send you an order to report for duty. When you receive a notification from the post office that a delivery has arrived to you from the Civilian Service Centre, you have to fetch it personally from the post office. Only after that your placement in your preferred group will become certain.

To whom and on what terms

If you have not received a written order to report for duty, you can ask for placement in an arriving group that has open positions.

The service is free of charge.
