Recruiting apprenticeship

Instructions for Employers

1. An employment services expert or an apprenticeship office training inspector may suggest recruitment through a recruiting apprenticeship when a suitable jobseeker is identified who still needs additional skills to manage the job tasks.
2. The employment services expert or training inspector will arrange a job interview between you and the jobseeker.
3. Once you decide to recruit the jobseeker and approve the contents of the employment and training agreements, an apprenticeship agreement is signed between you, the jobseeker, and the apprenticeship office. This can be done during or after the interview, and the training inspector is responsible for finalizing the agreement.
4. You must also sign a separate employment contract with the jobseeker. The employment relationship may begin even before the apprenticeship starts.
5. If you are hiring the employee with wage subsidy, you must apply for the subsidy in time—at least two weeks before the employment begins.

Instructions for Jobseekers

1. An employment services expert will suggest a suitable job and employer for you. If you accept the proposal, the expert or training inspector will introduce you to the employer and arrange a job interview on your behalf.
2. Once the employer has approved the contents of the employment and training agreements, an apprenticeship agreement is signed between you, the employer, and the apprenticeship office. This can be done during or after the interview, and the training inspector is responsible for finalizing the agreement.
3. To complete the agreement, you must fill out an electronic pre-information form. You will receive the form from the apprenticeship office.
4. You must also sign a separate employment contract with the employer. The employment relationship may begin even before the apprenticeship starts.
5. If you are working with a wage subsidy, the employer must apply for the subsidy before the employment begins.
6. The apprenticeship office will enroll you in an educational institution, and the institution will contact you. After that, the apprenticeship can begin.

A condition is that the recruited person is an unemployed jobseeker from Turku who is not subject to compulsory education. The employer’s company does not need to be located in Turku.

The working hours must be at least 25 hours per week, and the employment must last for a minimum of one month.
