You can join a religious community that accepts you as their member. Send a notification of joining directly to the religious community that you wish to join.
Religious communities decide themselves whether their members can also belong to other communities.
You can leave a religious community
If you wish to become a member of a religious community, submit a notification directly to the religious community.
You can use the Notification of Joining a Religious Community form.
To log in to the service, you need online banking IDs, mobile certificate or identity card, and a card reader on your computer.
Please note that the electronic service is linked to your individual personal identity code, so you can only notify information in Suomi.fi on your own behalf.
You can send the resignation request in writing to the religious community from which you are resigning or use the form to inform the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Submit the notification using the Notification of Resignation from a Religious Community form.
As the child’s guardian, you can notify
Please note that the written consent of all guardians is required for the notification.
If you are submitting the notification on behalf of a child aged 12 to 17, you will need the child’s consent.
If you are aged over 15 and leaving a religious community, you can submit the notification yourself. However, you must attach your guardians’ written consent to the notification.
