Upon request, the forensic genetics team of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare will provide all the necessary documents and sampling material packages if the test can be carried out at the request of a private individual. The primary sample for the DNA test is the swab sample from the inner surface of the cheek. Samples are taken by a licensed health care professional in a health care unit (usually a private medical centre).
