If your personal data entered in the Population Information System is incorrect or incomplete, you can ask the Digital and Population Data Services Agency to correct or supplement the data. You can also correct some data yourself in the Suomi.fi web service.
If there is an error in your preferred forename, profession, email address, native language or communication language, you can correct the information yourself when you are identified on the Personal Data page of the Suomi.fi Web Service.
If you cannot use the web service or if there is a mistake in your other data or in your child’s data, you can report the correct data using a printable form or in writing in a free-form format. Send the form by secure email to vaestotiedot@dvv.fi or by post to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
Also provide the necessary evidence and explanation, as in the original official document showing the correct data to be registered. If necessary, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency will ask you for additional information.
The data in the Population Information System can be corrected if the register entry can be verified to be incorrect. Correcting the data may require relevant documents as justifications.
The Digital and Population Data Services Agency does not add or correct address-related data retrospectively or supplement family relations data that was excluded from the register when the Population Information System was established in the early 1970s.
