Checking your personal data

In the service, you can check your personal data stored in the Population Information System.

You can also

  • enter your preferred name, profession, native language, communication language and email address
  • add or remove a non-disclosure of personal data
  • remove a non-disclosure for personal safety reasons
  • submit a notification of resignation from a religious community
  • block a notification of move.

Checking your personal data in the Population Information System via e-services

You can check your data on the Personal Data page of the Suomi.fi web service. In the service, you can also report missing data or update changed data.

To log in to the service, you need online banking IDs, a mobile certificate or an identity card. If you use an identity card, you need a card reader for your computer.

Inspection request on a form

If you cannot use the online service, you can send a request for data inspection to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Download the ‘Request - Exercise of right to inspection’ form. Send the form by secure email to vtj-todistus@dvv.fi or by post to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

Information on all service channels is not available in your chosen language. Change the language of the site to receive information on service channels in other languages.

To whom and on what terms

You can only check your data if you have been registered in the Finnish Population Information System and you have a Finnish personal identity code.
