Private guardians and attorneys will now be able to grant new mandates to manage their client's or grantee’s financial affairs (such as in OmaVero or Traficom e-service) and to view and invalidate previously granted mandates in Suomi.fi.
Until now, granting new mandates, invalidating mandates, or examining existing ones has required a separate mandate application or request for information submitted to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
Now, all of these are available as a self-service in Suomi.fi Services. The requirement to submit a mandate application is being discontinued.
The Suomi.fi e-Authorizations reform clarifies mandate management and makes managing the client’s or assignor's affairs faster and smoother.
Currently, private guardians or attorneys may:
The assignor is ultimately responsible for what their assignees do with the mandates granted to them.
Changes made in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations will take effect immediately. Mandates can be managed within the competence granted by the guardianship decision or the continuing power of attorney.
However, this change does not apply to other personal mandates, such as for managing health and social affairs. An attorney or guardian may not, for example, examine their assignor’s or client’s MyKanta mandates.
To manage health and social affairs and other than financial affairs, the guardian and attorney will still need a separate mandate in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.
