A new secure way for identification in the authorities’ digital services – electronic ID cards usable in Suomi.fi e-Identification using new app

The new token to use the near-field communication (nfc) chip in every electronic ID card to verify your identity. In the future, the electronic ID card can be used to verify your identity in official services using the free hightrust.id app.

The new hightrust.id token will be available in Suomi.fi e-Identification on 29 October. The new identification service can be found on the Suomi.fi e-Identification token selection page.

What is hightrust.id?

  • hightrust.id is a new, strong, electronic identification token from Finland.
  • The identification service is provided by Megical Oy. 
  • To use the token, you must have a valid electronic ID card with a chip issued after 1 September 2021. 
  • The app is available for Android and iOS smartphones. 
  • Download the app from your phone’s app store.
