Vehicle commissioning

Make the notification of commissioning in Traficom's My e-Services. The commissioning takes effect immediately after the notification.

If you cannot perform a commissioning electronically, you can contact your insurance company or an inspection station that offers registration services. If necessary, you can also use the e-service provided by your own insurance company.

Conditions for commissioning:

• You are you the owner or holder of the vehicle and at least 15 years of age.
• The service requires identification.

The service is not available, if

• The vehicle tax for the car has not been paid. You can pay the vehicle tax in My e-Services and perform the commissioning after payment. There may be a delay of 5 to 10 minutes in updating the payment information.
• The insurance details of the vehicle are incomplete.
• The registration number is missing: The vehicle does not have a valid registration number.
• The right to change registration details has been restricted: The vehicle is subject to a registration alteration prohibition issued by an authority, or it contains registration pendency data.
• The vehicle has been deregistered or finally deregistered, decommissioned for registration to the military vehicle register or decommissioned for registration abroad or to Åland.
• The vehicle has been stolen: The police have marked the vehicle as stolen.
