The paediatric ward cares for children who need hospital care. The care of a child is carried out on the ward only if the care cannot equally well be carried out at home or on the outpatient clinic. As a rule, patients come to the ward via the paediatric emergency clinic. Patients also come with emergency referrals directly from other units in Soite (e.g. the surgical ward) or as hospital transfers from other hospitals.
