Support family and support person activities require that your child is a client of social care or child welfare services. In addition, your family must be a client of the wellbeing services county, have undergone a service needs assessment and have a service plan that includes the service need.
You can apply for the activities with an application made by a personal social worker/responsible social worker under the Social Welfare Act or the Child Welfare Act. If you are not yet a client of social care or child welfare services and want to discuss the possibility of receiving a volunteer support person or family, you can contact the counselling service for families with children at 09 4191 5200.
