Suomenlinna is one of the most popular sights in Finland with around one million visitors yearly. The Suomenlinna Visitor Centre is open all year round and serves visitors near Suomenlinna’s ferry pier at C1.

The Visitor Centre personnel give you tips for your visit and provide you with information on the services available and events taking place. At the Visitor Centre you can pick up the free Suomenlinna brochure available in nine languages (Finnish, Swedish, English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese). The brochure has a map of the fortress and basic information on the history, sights and services on the island. At the Visitor Centre, there is also a free exhibition about Suomenlinna.

The Visitor Centre is open:

During the summer season (2 May–30 September): daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During the winter season (1 October–30 April): daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Visitor Centre is closed on Good Friday, May Day (1 May), Independence Day (6 December) as well as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (24–25 December).

Suomenlinna’s Wi-Fi (WLAN) is available at the Visitor Centre.
